Irv Beimler brings over 35 years experience as a senior executive, private equity portfolio manager and consultant in the financial services industry. He has a wealth of business and operating experience with a particular specialty in credit management, and corporate governance and leadership.
Prior to teaming with A.G. Newcomb, Irv was Portfolio Manager for a Washington, DC-based private equity fund focused on the financial services sector. He sourced, evaluated, and oversaw investments and was responsible for all due diligence activities. In addition, he served as interim CEO for a commercial bank, savings bank and specialty finance company and served on the Board of directors and various committees for six banks (four public and two private) and lead independent director for a public technology company. He recently provided assistance for acquisition of failed banks and management after acquisition.
Irv was Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer for Fleet Bank of New York, a $10 billion commercial bank, and Riggs National Corporation, a $6 billion commercial bank in Washington, D.C. during a time of regulatory concerns and / or regulatory agreement. Irv was responsible for the development of policies, procedures and hired appropriate personnel including the management of the special asset areas.
Irv has been instrumental in several bank and thrift turnarounds. He is also skilled in strategic planning, asset/liability management, consolidation and merger planning and execution. In addition, Irv has provided litigation support and consulting for real estate bankruptcies, international banking failures, and insurance company fraud. He has extensive experience in training course development and delivery, having served as an adjunct college lecturer, banking school presenter, and industry conference speaker.
Irv received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo and attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.
